Okay guys.. now the journey is over for me. I finally got my physical cards in mail. for some reason I never got CPO email/text. All I got decision and post decision emails. Since it had been couple of weeks since decision I was getting uneasy (because of no CPO).. but I got physical cards in mail today !

I did not want to respond you but here's what can be achieved by lifting the country caps even for 2 years. If you lift the country cap, oldest PDs get the green Cards irrespective of their country, considering it's Indians & Chinese who are stuck the most, believe it or not, India will get all of 140K Visas, you can easily expect India and china to come at par with ROW, I know with your intelligence level, it is hard for you to understand, but if you are in a line, you are always going to get benefited if more people before you get eliminated fom the queue...

got my receipts today.
Case Details:
i-485/EAD/AP sent on 7/25 and reached NSC on 7/26 for my self and my wife.
i-140 still pending at NSC.
Got the receipts for all 6 cases from lawyer today.
i-485 for me and my wife got transfered to TSC and pending.
Case status shows Received on 7/26 and EAD approved for me and my wife from TSC on 09/26.
AP pending in TSC.

Anyway, moving forward...It will be nice to make a list of desirable points in a bill that is independent of any cause for illegal immigrants. I will start with two points. You can add more if you like. If there is enough momentum and support for these points, then in a truly democratic environment, we may want to modify the core IV goals to reflect that (Ideally I would prefer that there be a vote for what should be the core goals...after all most people here have contributed something towards the cause...and only those who have contributed should be allowed to vote...no free lunch).
1. Allow people to file for 485 and get EAD even if visa numbers are not available
2. Allow EAD to be FULLY portable without restrictons (i.e., irrespective of job description or job title or job location or salary).
The above two dont ask for sweeping changes in immigration laws such as increase visa numbers etc. etc. and are easy for the average American person to understand. And so can hopefuly be passed easily.
With the above two passed, I dont think many people will complain if it takes another 5 years to get their GC. Agree?
By the way, I have got my EAD card and my PD is also current. So the above two goals will be redundant for me. My story is that I am stuck in FBI namecheck. But the moderators have already indicated that it cant be one of the core goals. So I would not list that even if I would like that to be one of the core goals.

People who have read my posts know my admiration for India and my belief that it will be Americans who will fight to get a job there one day. The numbers I shared are not "blinding me by my own bias" like you say at all. I fact, I used numbers in order not to be biased and rather to be fair. I just responded to some ignorant comments by some people. I have been to India and hope to go back, and have many great friends from there. What discouraged me is that some people will attack my country especially in a forum where that doesn't belong and where we are all trying to help each other. Any divisions among us are a victory for our detractors. I hope you understand. Let's focus on helping each other going forward, and let's all be friends! Thanks.

I also want USCIS to count my legal presence in the US prior to obtaining permanent residency (GC) for naturalization purposes. (Canada does this - 50% credit for time spent legally before obtaining permanent residency).

Wanted to know what the members here think of the probability of receiving RFE from USCIS to find out whether the applicant is still in a "same or similar" job when the time comes to adjudicate cases for for EB3 India.
I ask this because in a poll conducted in a separate thread, it seems the number of people waiting for their GCs are more with PDs before Dec 2004 than after that date.
When the dates become current again for these people, do you think USCIS will be sending RFEs to get the employment information for every single of them ? Is there is a percentage from the pending applications that they pick for RFE, assuming all applicants who changed employers DID NOT notify USCIS when they changed jobs OR is it completely up to the whims of the adjudicating officer to send an RFE ?

you are right we were not brought here on a gun point but at the same time we did not beg anyone to bring us here... it is entirely a two sided business deal... and no one is doing any favor to anyone here ... we are doing our job and they must do their's. and yes we are "Highly Skilled" and we do deserve repect and our voices do deserve to be heard. Sure they can put an Ad in any newspaper and replace me with someone else but the question here is not about you or me... it is about the "LEGAL IMMIGRANTS" and which in that case would include anyone who they bring in to replace me.

You might be right. Check the response senator got from USCIS on Aug 6th. I was later approved on Aug 16th.

We are unable to request the files be moved to an Adjudications Officer because our Records Division is running an electronic sweep to pull the files with available visas. Files will be pulled through this sweep and sent to an Officer. We are generally processing about 4000 employment-based cases a month and the cases with available visas are being pulled through these sweeps.
